Students must arrange for the funding of their PhD studies prior to enrolment in the Graduate School of Arts. The possibilities are as follows:
|1.||The student has been awarded a PhD scholarship by the Graduate School. |
The student applies for enrolment and a scholarship simultaneously.
The student has been awarded a PhD scholarship from an external source (including programme fees and overhead; see below).
A PhD scholarship (salary including programme fee and overhead) on the highest pay grade (8) amounts to about 2,500,000 DKK.
|3.||The student finances his or her PhD studies by means of other external funding (salary and study costs), and pays annual programme fees and overhead to the Graduate School of Arts; see below. |
The funding commitment MUST be documented in writing upon application for enrolment as a PhD student.
For externally funded PhD studies, the Ministry of Finances recommends the programme fee (2017 level) of 104,200 DKK a year plus overhead, currently 44%.
The costs depend on the PhD student's seniority (previous employment after the Master’s degree.). If the PhD student does not have any seniority he/she will be placed on the lowest pay grade (4.1).
